Our Veterinarians
Michael D. Hutchison, DVM, CVA
Practice Owner; Primary Veterinarian
Dr. Michael Hutchison is an Arizona native from the Mogollon Rim country near Pine. After completing his pre-vet coursework at Northern Arizona University, he completed his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 1993. In 1995, he founded Madera Veterinary Hospital. After 14 years of private practice, he left Madera to pursue advanced training and certification in equine and small animal acupuncture. He started Pegasus Veterinary Center in 2010 as well as the 501c3 non-profit horse rescue Southern Arizona Veterinary Equine Rescue in 2016. Currently, he is continuing advanced training in traditional Chinese herbal medicine.
Leticia C. O. Ribeiro, BVETMED
Veterinarian
Dr. Ribeiro was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She began riding at the age of 5, and never looked back. Dr. Ribeiro moved to Gilbert, AZ at the age of 17, finished highschool and eventually moved to Tucson where she graduated from the University Of Arizona with a Bachelor's in Animal Science in 2019. Dr. Ribeiro completed her veterinary degree at the Royal Veterinary College in London, UK in 2023. After attending an equine internship in Stephenville, Texas, Dr. Ribeiro returned to Tucson, AZ in June 2024. An avid equestrian, Dr. Ribeiro's main interest is in equine medicine general practice - to care for your equine partner from the early years all the way to their senior years. When not at work, Dr. Ribeiro can be found out on the trail with her husband, their horse Jughead, and their dog Pistol.
Dylan M. Hutchison, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Dylan is a native Tucson through and through, born and raised in the city, and attending the Unversity of Arizona both for his undergraduate and veterinary medical doctoral degrees, and prior to working outdoors at Saguaro National Park, where he met his wife. He has been immersed in veterinary medicine his entire life, seeing the craft intimately from inside and out. Beyond veterinary medicine, his interests lie in geography and foreign history with an emphasis on Eastern Europe and the Middle East. A devoted father of two, Dylan hopes to maintain family tradition in practice and strive to find holistic health and balance both in personal and professional life.

Sarah Law,
Office Manager, Veterinary Technician
Sarah, is a Tucson, Arizona native who has dedicated their life to the veterinary profession since 2004. Driven by a deep passion to help animals and their human's to live the best lives possible, they advocate for a balanced, integrative approach to animal care that blends holistic healing with conventional medicine. Alongside their husband of over 20 years, Sarah is deeply committed to animal rescue, frequently stepping up to save and rehabilitate animals in need.
When they aren't caring for patients, Sarah manages a bustling, vibrant homestead that includes a beloved pack of five large dogs, two cats, two snakes, a thriving rat-breeding program, and a bearded dragon named Zeus. A proud parent and grandparent to five, they cherish family time above all else. They are an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves camping, fishing, shooting, and they find great joy closer to home by planting gardens and continuously working on home improvement projects. Helping others is a privilege. Helping other's and their pets is an honor. It humbles the toughest of souls. I am here to help as the newly appointed office manager and lead technician. Stephanie Leong,
Veterinary Technician
I am a Tucson native and was born with a passion for animals. I love reading, art, music, films and travel. I received my Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Arizona in 2002. I worked as a technician here in Tucson for 11 years. I am so happy to be working with such a caring and knowledgeable group of fellow animal lovers. I’m excited to be a part of a team that utilizes all available forms of treatment to give animals the best chance of a happy, healthy, and beautiful life.
Cheyanne Sprague,
Veterinary Assistant
Cheyenne was born in Tucson, Arizona, and grew up in Sahuarita. Her love for animals began at a young age and grew even stronger after her family dog needed care from a local veterinarian. That experience inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
She attended Carrington College in Tucson, where she studied Veterinary Assisting and graduated in 2018. Since then, Cheyenne has gained experience in animal boarding, doggy daycares, and veterinary medicine, working with both small animals and exotic pets. She hopes to continue furthering her education in small animal medicine while also beginning to expand her knowledge and experience in equine medicine.
Outside of work, Cheyenne enjoys spending time with her kids, taking quiet hikes, and relaxing at home with her furry family. You can usually find her snuggling with one of her cats, Livi or Ophelia, or spending time with her dogs, Princess and Ragnar.
Mia Welch,
Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Mia was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and has had a lifelong love for animals. She began horseback riding at three years old, and her years spent around horses played a big role in developing her passion for animal care and veterinary medicine.
Mia graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science and a minor in Biochemistry. Throughout her education, she gained experience working with horses, volunteering with shelter animals, and learning more about different aspects of veterinary medicine. Her experiences have strengthened her interest in both small animal and equine medicine, and she hopes to continue expanding her knowledge and developing her clinical skills as she explores her future in the field.
Outside of work, Mia enjoys horseback riding, spending time with her cat, Juni, and caring for foster animals. She also loves being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Clinic Critters
Lint, Jinx, and Little Boy
The newest additions to our clinic family, Lint, Jinx, and Little Boy have already begun making themselves at home. These three little personalities bring plenty of curiosity, mischief, and playfulness wherever they go. Whether they're busy exploring their surroundings, getting into a little trouble, or curling up for a well-deserved nap, they keep us entertained and remind us why we love having animals around. Though each has their own unique personality, together they make the perfect trio and are already becoming beloved members of our clinic family. We can't wait to watch them grow and see what kind of mischief they get into next!
Frederic
Frederic is a proud and early-retired show Arabian. He came to us as a SAVER rescue, having been dismissed from his career due to an unfortunate lameness. He loves visitors and carrots, and can often be found poking his head over the stable doors beyond the central round pen.
Zia
Zia was brought to us to retire and to be with our rescue horse Frederic. She had a successful career in endurance riding but now graces our landscape with beauty.
In Loving Memory
Spot
Often seen leaping through the clinic like a ringtail, Spot was full of personality, even at 25 years old. Rescued and adopted by Dr. Hutchison, she spent her life surrounded by his family before becoming a familiar face at Pegasus. Whether lounging on paperwork, claiming the computer keyboard, or greeting visitors at the front desk, Spot always found a way to make herself at home. Her playful spirit, memorable antics, and the joy she brought to the clinic will always be remembered.
Sven
Large and in charge, Sven had a personality that was impossible to miss. Originally welcomed as a temporary rescue, his fiery and mischievous nature quickly won everyone's hearts, earning him a forever home at Pegasus. Whether pawing at treatment room doors in search of afternoon snacks or making his presence known throughout the clinic, Sven always kept everyone entertained. His playful antics, larger-than-life personality, and the joy he brought to the clinic will always be remembered.
